First dip into an E.L.F. world

I've seen ELF products over the years on various blogs and YouTube videos but never got a chance to try any of the products out. I was contacted by Nail Polish Canada to try some of their products and decided it was time to give ELF a go. I really wanted to try some of their eyeshadows and their brushes. First up is the ELF 32 Piece Eyeshadow Palette in Everyday and the ELF Essential Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

When I first saw the ELF palette* I was pleasantly surprised with the range of colours. Even though it is an "everyday" palette I like how it includes some purples, blues and olive shades. I've been playing around with this palette all week and I definitely think it's a bargain! The colour payoff is surprising really good, even with the matte shades which I wasn't expecting. All the shades I've tried so far blend really easily and with a primer last all night. One con I would have to note is that the sparkly/shimmery colours do have more fall out. Overall, I think this is a great palette for anyone but definitely for those just venturing into makeup as it allows you to try many eye looks without having to shell out a lot of money to get different colours. You can't go wrong with a palette that's less than $10 and has good pigmentation!

Next up is the ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen*. I've always loved using eyeliner pens as they make applying eye liner a breeze! I used to have the MAC Pen Ultimate a while ago but haven't repurchased recently. So when I saw this eyeliner pen I knew I had to give it a go. So far the ELF eyeliner pen works great. It went opaque on the first go and didn't smudge or fade throughout the night. Application was super easy as it has a fine tip that lets you make your line as thick or thin as you wish. Definitely recommend and with a $2.25 price tag you can't go wrong!
