NYE Party Makeup

When I was doing my makeup for a NYE party I really didn't know what I was going to do/products use. I knew I wanted to have a smokey eye instead of a bold lip. So I pulled out the old faithful Urban Decay Naked Palette One and went from there.

Here's a roundup of the products I used:

I started off by using an oldie but a goodie, the Urban Decay Primer Potion (favourite primer) all over the eyelid. Then from the Naked Palette I used the shade Gunmetal all over the eyelid. Next up, in the out corner I blended the shade Creep. In the crease I used Buck to make a brown/grey smokey eye. For a brow highlight I opted for the shade Virgin. Then finished off with black liquid liner. For mascara, I've been using the Covergirl Lashblast Volume and this mascara gives me enough volume and length that I skipped fake lashes that night. For brows, I went for the Gosh Brow Gel* (more on this next week).

Now for the face I didn't use primer only because I completely forgot to about it. But I would have opted for the Benefit 15-Hour Primer had I remembered. Another oldie but goodie, the Makeup Forever HD Foundation. For concealer, I've been using the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer that I picked up in London this summer. Then set everything with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. To keep this focused on the eyes, I went easy on the blush by using Benefit's Dandelion blush. For highlighter I used the Laura Mercier Baked Highlighter that I got in a 500 perk from Sephora. And finished everything with Maybelline's Daringly Nude lipstick.

I was really happy with my look and I will be redoing it next time I have a party to go to. Now I was going to include a picture of the entire look, but lighting was not good so next time I'll make sure to take some photos before I head out.

Have a great day!
