Since the time I shared this post on my The Ordinary collection, I have accumulate more products from the brand. Clearly I can't be stopped - I must have at least half the range by now.

But when I saw they came out with a marula oil I put myself on the waitlist and impatiently waited until it was back in stock.

I tend to go for oils as moisturizers in the summer time as they are light and tend to absorb quickly. I had pretty high hopes for the 100% Cold-Pressed Virgin Marula Oil as it's not the cheapest product on The Ordinary line and it was out of stock for quite some time.

Well after testing it for a couple weeks I'm not amazed by it. It's an ok oil. My one main issue with it is that it doesn't absorb into the skin quickly. I tend to use 2-3 drops for my entire face. I only use it this at night and after an hour of applying it my skin will still have an oily feeling to it. For that reason I do not use this oil in the morning.

Aside from it taking a long time to completely absorb in the skin, it hasn't really impressed me that much. It does leave my skin feeling moisturized by the morning but I found that it wasn't able to fix any dry patches I had. Side note - I tend to have oily skin in the summer/spring but my skin will occasionally have the random dry patch.

I'll probably continue to use this when my skin is more on the oily side and will switch back to my First Aid Beauty moisturizer in the winter when the colder months make my skin more on the combo side.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried out the marula oil from The Ordinary?
